Custodial/Maintenance Contract:
- Attorney Dugas presented the 4-year contract which was unanimously approved
Correspondence:
- Laurel Walsh sent an email asking board to consider more equity in SPED funding and training, particularly the area of Dyslexia
Public Comment
- Jenn Record spoke in support of superintendent’s budget, particularly adding professionals (K paras, math and reading specialists, and other support staff)
- Michelle Molloy spoke in support of K paras, on behalf of TPS Kindergarten staff

Teacher BOE Representative Report:
- Teachers are happy to see rollout of new facemasks, they support the superintendent’s budget, and would like to see more resources for ELL and SPED
Budget Presentation & Discussion (Dr. Semmel)

- Answers to BOE questions regarding class sizes, per pupil spending (has been going down since 2013/14 school year), THS Music FTE (3 teachers were ‘mis-coded’ last year which made it look like there were 6 music teachers), we are adding 5 SPED teacher to this budget
- Principal Jennifer Neumeyer presented during the the Powerpoint slide for the elementary school’s financial summary (spoke about benefits of specific budget items - K paras, assistant principal for Frenchtown and Middlebrook, math & literacy specialists, SPED staffing, and 5th grade spanish)
- Principals Bryan Rickert and Peter Sullivan presented during the Powerpoint slide for the middle school’s financial summary (spoke in support positions previously eliminated that were brought back with grant money and the need to include them in future budget, new math textbooks are in curriculum budget - the textbooks in the slide are replacement and consumable, request to increase to advisor stipend which was previously reduced)
- David Cote presented during the Powerpoint slide for the Facilities Department (decrease in budget request)
- Principal Dr. Matthew Wheeler presented during the Powerpoint slide for TECEC (spoke about increase due to need for online systems - CT-Dot Online System/Bridges $23,324, as well as increase in staffing due to enrollment)
- Dr. Tammy Hartman, PPS Director presented during the Powerpoint slide for Special Education Department (overall decrease in budget request; requesting SRP classroom, without which outplacements would increase)
